Sarebbe un quattro, o anche un po' di più, ma la quantità di cose identiche ripetute mille volte mi ha davvero infastidito - e la parte più pop legata ai personaggi principali a mio parere da metà libro in poi stona davvero troppo con il tono invece horror precedente.
Ma alcune parti sono davvero molto molto belle e quindi è difficile sconsigliare quest'opera - soprattutto se siete fan come me del romanzo di cui si dichiara seguito. Magari valutate solo se interrompere la lettura prima della fine.

Since I loved really the last novel's theme, I was quite curious to see if this new book could hit me that hard - and it did. I needed to force myself to stop reading it and go to sleep, but it was really hard to put it down.
Maybe it's a bit slower in the beginning, but then The Running Grave keeps getting better and better, with a lot of emotionally intense cult-related pages and a lot of wonderful and realistic dialogue pages. It's more than a mystery to me how the author could portray that well so many different persons - and there are a ton of them.
I loved also the backstory - Cormoran's personal life changes - and what's on between him and Robin.
Now, I'm back to wait for the next installment.

Avrei probabilmente dovuto rileggere almeno la Ninfa Dormiente prima di affrontare questo romanzo, perché la mia memoria ha fatto un po' fatica a riagganciare trame e personaggi - ma ho comunque davvero apprezzato molto questo nuovo libro con la Battaglia.
Come sempre ottima la scrittura e la costruzione delle scene, e splendidi i tanti personaggi - complicati e umani - in scena.

Another excellent chapter in this spectacular series.
This is the first book I've read waiting for its release - because I discovered The Dales Detective when the previous books were already published - and I read them, one after the other, last year.
So I was curious to see if my crush with this background was tied to the adrenaline rush I had with seven books read in a little more than a month. And, well, it wasn't. I've loved this last chapter even more, even if, I have to admit that, I had problems recalling the huge number of characters.
But in this book, everything fits - and I really think that the author did great work connecting the dots of a complex mystery backstory spread across all the previous books.

A nice mystery book for kids - with many visual appeals on pages, thanks to illustrations and page layouts. I didn't like to much the beginning - I mean, the main character and her sidekick are presented as an already active investigation couple and that backstory didn't get me too much - but I love the story path, other characters' developments, and - yes - also the finale.
Something to consider, if you're into this kind of narrative - mysteries for young readers - or even if you're just a fan of this artist and you're curious to see how's his writing skill (spoiler: it's quite good!).

A mio parere, anche se fuori dai suoi canoni abituali, questo è uno dei migliori libri di questa autrice, escludendo giusto i primi quattro. Un libro per mid-grade, ambientato in un futuro che fa da sponda a un giappone medioevale ricco di folklore, con tanti personaggi interessanti, moltissima azione, e un bel finale (che può aprire la strada ad altro).
Consigliato, se il target di età un po' più basso non vi spaventa.

3.5 stelle. L'ambientazione giapponese mi colpisce sempre molto, e la storia "gialla" (violenta e terribile) non è male, ma non sono riuscito a trovare davvero ottima questa prima indagine di Himekawa, probabilmente per il ritmo, un po' frammentato dai tanti personaggi in gioco.
