epic adventure

Patrick Rothfuss wrote a masterpiece. My friend had lend it to me as her and introduced it as her favourite book, it did not disappoint. Well written, epic, tense, funny and a fantastic world around university, magic, adventure and love. Involving tragic moments, humour, suspense and surprises.

No se puede fingir que se es más inteligente de lo que se es

Entiendo por qué es popular: la prosa va buscando belleza. Pero medio vulgar, por eso lo llaman populus-vulgus. El protagonista es brillante, lo dicen su maestro y sus papás en conversación privada. Que el protagonista escucha escondido. Nosotros nos enteramos a través del protagonista, que le está narrando su vida a un cronista. De vez en cuando algo pasa con el cronista y con otros personajes de ese tiempo presente, y nos sospechamos que la historia que se quiere contar es a partir de ese tiempo presente. Pero no sería satisfactorio nomás partir del hombre hecho: hay que ir hasta su infancia y narrar cada episodio. Y cuesta entender por qué siendo un niño tan brillante se mete tan bobamente en problemas tan serios. ¿Será lo de las múltiples inteligencias? Muy a lo Harry Potter se la pasa al borde de la expulsión de la escuela, e insiste en que …
